Interview with Zack Polanki and Adrian Ramsay, two of the Green Party (E&W) leadership candidates
Green House Think Tank recorded two interviews with Green Party leadership candidates in the August 2025 elections.
Interviews undertaken separately.
Questions asked in this video:
1. The Bank of England could expand money supply, in co-ordination with HM Treasury, to generate funds for investing in greening our infrastructure. Do you support such ideas? If not, how else should we fund the green transformation of the economy?
2. We know the Green Party wants to significantly increase its representation in Parliament from the present 4 MPs & 2 baronesses, but this wouldn't necessarily change UK’s political landscape very much. What would success for the England and Wales Green Party look like to you? Don’t feel obliged to answer in terms of electoral successes.
3. Many people have written about the deficiencies in GDP in measuring wellbeing and criticise society's obsession with its growth. How would you address the inevitable mainstream response that we would be unable to fund public services without economic growth?
4. Apart from climate change, there is little discussion of the threats from novel chemicals, eutrophication of water and loss of biodiversity. How do you think we can raise voter's awareness and start meaningful policy change about these threats within the UK? How should we engage internationally on the planetary boundaries that we are breaching?
5. On what issues should Green Parties be a broad coalition that embraces diverse opinions, and on what specific issues do you feel a unified position is needed where you don’t compromise core values?
6. Good life – what one or two things would to focus on to convince people that voting for a green future will provide their families a good life?
